Adult and Teens Road Test
|
**IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ROAD TESTING APPLICANTS**
Please ensure that you carefully review the specific requirements based on your age group outlined below. If any of the necessary items are Forgotten, Incomplete, Expired Or Never Obtained One we regret to inform you that we will be unable to proceed with your road test. We strongly recommend verifying that you possess all the correct and CORRECT & CURRENT road testing documents before scheduling and making payment for your road test with us. All Road Tests Are Conducted In Our Driver Ed car, we will not use your car.
Requirements And Paperwork For Teens Aged 16-18 Years:
-Must be 16 years of age.Should have held a Learners Permit for 6 months and be 16 years old to take a road test with us. Verify the 6-month hold date by checking the back of your teen's permit.
-Must possess a current (non-expired) Texas Learners Permit with Restriction B and a photo.
-Completion of an approved Teen Driver Education Program with a DE-964 Form or PT-DE 964 Form labeled "For Drivers License Only." The certificate should indicate completion of 32 classroom hours and 14 in-car hours of instruction completed with a date.
-Completion of the 2-hour online video labeled Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) with a valid and CURRENT IMPACT completion certificate date on it. (expires 90 days after the issue date). Please print out and bring 2 Hour Impact Texas Teen Drivers Certificate with you for your road test.
Requirements And Paperwork For Adults Aged 18-24 Years:
-Must have a CURRENT Texas Learners Permit with a photo and Restriction B. If you arrive with No Tx Learners Permit Or Expired Tx Permit then we will not be able to road test you.
Completion of an Adult 6-Hour Permit class (Online or Face to Face) with a completion certificate -ADE-1317 labeled "Driver Education Course Exclusively For Adults."
-Must possess a CURRENT IMPACT Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) certificate. If you arrive with an Expired Impact Certificate or no certificate because you didn't watch the video, then we cannot conduct the road test for you.
Requirements And Paperwork For Adults Aged 25 Years And Older:
-Must have a CURRENT Texas Learners Permit with a Photo and Restriction B. If you arrive with No Tx Learners permit Or Expired Texas Learners permit, then we can not road test you.
-Must possess a CURRENT Impact Texas Adult Drivers (ITAD) Certificate. If you arrive with an Expired Impact Certificate, Or Forgot to watch this 1 Hour Video then we cannot conduct the road test for you
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ROAD TESTING APPLICANTS
-In the event an applicant disqualifies themselves by failing the road test, they may opt for a re-test (#2) at an additional fee of $50.00. It's crucial to note that the re-test cannot be scheduled on the same day as the failed test; Re-test #2 can be arranged after the $50.00 fee is paid to the office.
-A $30.00 fee will be applied to road test applicants who arrive for the D.P.S. road test without the necessary completed paperwork. This includes situations where required documents are missing, showing Up with EXPIRED IMPACT CERTIFICATE OR EXPIRED PERMIT or the applicant has no permit, or needs to change or switch their original road test appointment to another date and time.
-All road tests are conducted exclusively in the English language; no tests are available in Spanish or any other language. English-Spanish interpreters or any other languages interpreters are not permitted in the car.
-Our road tests are carried out in our vehicle; your car will not be used.
-If the envelope needs to be resealed for any reason, a fee of $50.00 will be required for the reseal of the envelope.

You will take the Road Test with a certified examiner, if you pass you must go to the DPS only to turn in your paper work to get the official license.
