The 38 Hours Course consists 30 of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training. The student receives one-on-one behind-the-wheel training with a certified instructor. The basic course is required for 15, 16 & 17 year old and meets the minimum requirements of the State of Louisiana.
The student will be given the Road Skills Test after they successfully pass their classroom and behind the wheel courses by a Licensed Road Skills Instructor.
Students that are 14 years and 9 months old can take the 30 hour driver education class only, and at lease be in the 9th Grade. The 8 hours of behind wheel training cannot be done until their 15th birthday.
